SADDLE RIVER, N.J. – A Saddle River police lieutenant has amended an earlier federal lawsuit he filed with the borough, alleging that he was passed over for a promotion due to his age, according to NorthJersey.com.
Lt. John Gaffney, 49, filed a suit against the borough last year that claimed he was passed over because of politics.
The suit alleges that Gaffney was denied a promotion because he attended a party hosted by 'political rivals' of Mayor Sam Raia and the Borough Council, according to NorthJersey.com.
Both sides are meeting with mediators to resolve the issue.Click here to read the rest of the NorthJersey.com article.
