NORTHERN HIGHLANDS, NJ -- The Allendale Council recently appointed Ron Kistner by a 5-0 vote to the part-time position of administrative officer.
Currently, Kistner is the director of operations and public works manager. As administrative officer, he will be taking on more work by serving in multiple roles for the borough.
Taking on the new role, Kistner also will be compensated with a $17,500 annual salary along with the yearly $110,00 he receives for his current duties.
The council recently appointed Kistner in January as the director of operations due to his success as the head of the Bergen County Park Department. During that time, Kistner led the expansion of the county parks activities, including Bark in the Park, large ethnic diversity festivals and the introduction of food trucks in the park.
In addition, the renovated projects at the revamped Overpeck complex in the Leonia and Ridgefield Park region were overseen by Kistner.
