NORTHERN HIGHLANDS, N.J. -- Borough public safety officials will launch an informational campaign on bicycle rules before taking the next step of writing tickets to bicyclists passing through Upper Saddle River, according to NorthJersey.com.

Police Chief Patrick Rotella said he plans to reach out to the area's bicycle groups and shops to stress the rules of the road for bicyclists, NorthJersey.com said.

Residents have been complaining to the Upper Saddle River Council, saying cyclists are more dangerous than deer because they sometimes ride in groups across the road instead of in single file, the story said.
