ONLY ON CVP: A homeless convicted burglar facing charges in several jurisdictions broke into a Ho-Ho-Kus woman’s home and robbed her, an indictment returned by a grand jury in Hackensack alleges.
Joseph Lisanti, 27, was indicted on five separate charges of unlawful entry and armed robbery in connection with the April 14, 2012 break-in on Eastgate Road.
The 6-foot-4-inch, 210-pound Lisanti, formerly of Washington Township, has repeatedly been arrested and released soon after on bail the past two years, records show.
He faces burglary, drug and weapons charges in Elmwood Park, Hackensack, Rochelle Park, Washington Township and Mahwah, where police responding to a burglary call said they found him hiding under a bed.
Washington Township police were searching for Lisanti in connection with an attempted break-in when Ho-Ho-Kus police arrested him in the Eastgate Road home.
Mahwah police said they caught Lisanti hiding under the bed in a burglarized Winter Terrace home in May 2013 after a quick-thinking resident who saw him casing the neighborhood snapped a photo with her cellphone.
Two days earlier, Hackensack police arrested him for possession of heroin and a hypodermic needle.
