The team, led by Capt. Keith Rosazza consisted of Lt. Phil Corsillo and firefighters Dane Policastro, Steve Scanapico, Ryan Andersen, and Chris Vella.

"It was close, but HFD was edged out for the fastest time and 1st place overall by our NWBMA partners from Franklin Lakes Volunteer Fire Department," the department said in a Facebook post.

The teams use the necessary tools and equipment to remove two "patients" – in this case, dummies – from a vehicle.

Garfield firefighters finished second in Saturday's six-hour competition and Family Fun Day at the Meadows Office Complex on Route 17 in Rutherford.
