PATERSON, N.J. -- John P. Palmisano, 81, of Brewster, Mass., died following a valiant 12-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Born in Paterson and raised in the Riverside section, he was the son of John J. and Juliet (née Theodora) Palmisano.
Palmisano was a graduate of Eastside High School, an alumnus of Indiana University and Rutgers Law School. He was a principle with the law firm Andora, Palmisano and Geaney in Elmwood Park until his retirement in 2003.
Known for his kind heart and sense of humor, Palmisano enjoyed the company of his many friends, family and colleagues.
He was a past member of the Montclair Country Club, Bass River Rod & Gun Club and the Orleans Yacht Club. He was a talented, self-taught artist and avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed nature, boating and fishing Big Pleasant Bay.
He was predeceased by his brother Dr. Louis Palmisano.
He is survived by his wife Wynn (née Marron) Palmisano; children Anthea Martin (Danny), John Palmisano, Marlo Palmisano, Corey Maiorino (Anthony) and Peter Mortimer (Jill); grandchildren Dylan, Sarah, Tyler, Samuel, Anthony, Madison, Sofia and Peter; and his Dachshund Roosevelt.
A Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Saint Gabriel the Archangel in Saddle River followed by internment at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes and a luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Broad Reach Hospice or the charity of your choosing.
