SADDLE RIVER, N.J. -- Happy birthday to Upper Saddle River's Jason Kidd.
Kidd, a native of Alameda, Calif., was born on March 23, 1973 and turns 44 Thursday.
A former NBA player and two-time Olympic Gold medalist, he is now head coach with the Milwaukee Bucks,
He played basketball with St. Joseph Notre Dame High School, making it to the national championship with his team. After high school, he shocked fans and recruiters when he went to the University of California Berkeley, a school coming off a 10-18 season and had not won a conference title since 1960.
He was the second overall pick for the Dallas Mavericks and won an NBA championship with the team in 2011.
