RealSource has provided the backpacks to students every August for nearly two decades.

“Giving back to the communities we work in is very important to us,” said Jeanine Soderlund, RealSource community service committee chair. “With education being one of the most important tools a child can receive for their future, it’s important that these students are going back to school with the supplies they need in order to succeed in the classroom. It’s also vital to their self-esteem that they go back to school looking and feeling more like their fellow classmates and less like a child in need.”

The backpacks were distributed through Social Services of Ridgewood, the Center for Food Action in Mahwah and the Community Association with a Ministry to People Youth Development Program in Paterson.

All backpacks were purchased by RealSource, with supplies donated by its Realtor members.
