SADDLE RIVER, N.J. — There are three things to know about Piper Green, Ellen Potter says of the protagonist in her new series: She always says what’s on her mind, she rides a lobster boat to school, and there is a fairy tree in her front yard.

Potter will be at E. Allendale Road's Wandell School on Oct. 28, visiting with students in 1st to 3rd grade and talking about her series "Piper Green and the Fairy Tree."

When a new teacher at Piper's school doesn't appreciate her new accessory, Piper turns to the fairy tree in her front yard in hopes that it will solve her problems at school.

Piper again seeks help from the fairy tree when a classmate warns her that too much good luck can go bad.
