Waldwick Police Charge Oradell Man In Copper Wire Thefts

WALDWICK, N.J. -- Waldwick police charged a 53-year-old Oradell man with stealing copper wire from a local business after a detective identified him from surveillance vieo.

Richard McDowall was ordered held on $5,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with burglary and theft, Lt. Douglas Moore told Daily Voice.

Detective Sgt. Troy Seifert identified McDowall from surveillance video at the West Prospect Street business after the break-ins on Jan. 30 and Feb. 1, Moore said.

Around 3 a.m. Tuesday, Midland Park Police Officer Kreshnik Mahmudi found McDowall in his vehicle in a local shopping center parking lot and took him into custody.

McDowall was then taken to Waldwick.
