A New Jersey Turnpike toll collector thought he’d created EZCash lanes, skimming $10,000 in fares from tractor-trailers before auditors sniffed him out, State Police said.
Working with the Turnpike Authority, State Police arrested 27-year-old Daron Burch of Jersey City and charged him with theft.
Burch, working booths in Woodbridge, processed tractor-trailers in his lanes at the lowest passenger vehicle rates, then kept the difference, State Police said.
He’s free pending an initial appearance in Woodbridge Municipal Court.
