Marianna Sciancalepore-Ventura said she believes she lost the ring, given to her by her husband of 18 years, fellow Hoboken native Henry Ventura, while at the Clifton Stop & Shop on Broad Street late last Wednesday morning.

Henry Ventura, a 39-year-old U.S. Army veteran and PSE&G lineman, died of lung failure in July.

"I’m 95% sure I dropped it in the parking lot while putting the groceries in the car," said Sciancalepore-Ventura, who is expecting the couple's second child in February. "I heard something drop checked around didn’t see anything.

"I didn’t realize it was my ring that must have fell 'till after I got home," she said. "I checked everywhere and even searched Stop and Shop and nothing."

The ring might have turned up in a pawn shop or as a gift, stirring hope that someone recognizes it.

"This obviously was one of the most important things Henry has ever given me," said Sciancalepore-Ventura, who filed a police report the day she lost the ring. "If you can please share this, maybe someone would see this and find it in their heart to give it back."
