YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Authorities have charged the ex-boyfriend of a Walwick woman found strangled in her bed yesterday with her murder.
Mark J. Spatucci, a 22-year-old graduate of Midland Park High School, became an immediate suspect in the strangling death of Mary Greff, 23, and was arrested and charged last night, records show.

The 5-foot-8 inch, 150-pound Spatucci was being held on $2 million bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with murder, felony murder, burglary, child endangerment and hindering apprehension. He has a first appearance scheduled in Superior Court in Hackensack tomorrow morning ( above: Bergen County Jail mugshot ).
The felony murder charge stems from him allegedly entering the victim’s house uninvited, which under the law is a burglary. A killing committed during the commission of another felony gives rise to the additional count.
Greff’s father, Leon, found her body face-up in her second-floor bedroom and called authorities around 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.
In a bassinet nearby lay her eight-month-old son, who was unharmed, the prosecutor said.
Baby registry records show that Spatucci is the father of the boy, who was born Feb. 5. Like his father and paternal grandfather, his name is also Mark.
Molinelli said yesterday said that a former boyfriend of Greff’s, whom he didn’t identify, had lived with her for a time. Several sources identified him as Spatucci. READ MORE….
