Rami Shalhoub, 33, got out of his car at Jersey Gas on Lakeview Avenue "with a law enforcement badge hanging from around his neck and a firearm in his hand," Detective Sgt. Robert Bracken said.

He then "pointed the handgun at the female driver of the other vehicle, along with her husband and 6-year-old child, who were seated in the vehicle with her...identified himself as a law enforcement officer, reentered his vehicle and then fled the scene," Bracken said.

It was unclear what the dispute was about.

Witnesses pointed police to Shalhoub, who was arrested a day later by Detectives Steven Maza and Sean Connor -- who found what was a CO2 pistol, along with a badge and a non-ballistic vest, among other law enforcement equipment, Bracken said.

Shalhoub was ordered held on $50,000 bail in the Passaic County Jail, charged with aggravated assault, impersonating a law enforcement officer and weapons charges.
