PARK RIDGE, N.J. — Approximately 50 people were displaced as the result of a Friday evening fire that ravaged a Park Ridge condominium complex, NJ.com reports.

A resident of the North Maple Avenue complex called 9-1-1 at around 9 p.m., saying that a smoke detector in a second floor unit was going off, firefighters said.

Several area departments including Old Tappan, Pearl River, Washington Township, Montvale, Hillsdale, Westwood, Woodcliff Lake and Emerson helped fight the fire for approximately one hour, the article says. No injuries were reported.
