WALDWICK, N.J. -- Longtime Waldwick resident Mary R. (Drago) Salamone died Saturday, Jan. 16. She was 90.
Born in Jersey City, Salamone spent her early years residing in Hoboken before moving to Waldwick more than 60 years ago. She devoted her time to raising and caring for her husband and children.
She worked as a sales representative for Lord & Taylor in Ridgewood for many years. She was a parishioner of St. Luke’s in Ho Ho Kus.
Salamone is survived by her husband of 68 years, John Salamone; son Robert Salamone and wife Meg of New Egypt; daughters Maureen Hirsch and Mary Ann Osgoodby, both of Waldwick; grandchildren John Salamone, Brian Salamone, Robert Hirsch, Maryann White, Kimberly Tinker, Thomas Osgoodby and Gregory Osgoodby; and great-grandchildren Olivea, Dylan and Logan Salamone, Sophia and Bronson Tinker, Grace White and Angela, Nicholas and Luke Salamone.
She was predeceased by her two sons-in-law, Robert Hirsch and George Osgoodby.
Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. A funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at St. Luke’s, 340 Franklin Turnpike, Ho Ho Kus. Interment will follow in the St. Luke’s Cemetery.
