UPPER SADDLE RIVER, N.J. -- Mary Gladys (Greene) Flynn of Upper Saddle River and formerly of Bergenfield, passed away on Nov.6. She was 95.
Born in Placentia, Newfoundland, Canada, she came to the United States in 1946 where she then met her husband James F. Flynn.
She was a 50 year parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Bergenfield and a member of St. John's Rosary Society, St. John's Seniors, Catholic Daughters of America and Tenafly Seniors.
Upon moving to Upper Saddle River in 2007, she became a member of the Church of the Presentation's Prayer Shawl Ministry. She also continued her involvement with the Tenafly Seniors where she enjoyed many afternoons knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her friends.
She was the mother of Rosemarie Scannapieco (Peter), Dianne Bono (Thomas), and Sharon Murgittroyd (Robert); grandmother of Peter and Michael Scannapieco, Kenneth, Stephen, and Matthew Bono, and Andrew and Melissa Murgittroyd; great-grandmother of Karl and Brendan.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River. Interment will follow at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Tenafly Senior Center, 20 South Summit Street, Tenafly, NJ, 07670.
