Lucille M. Kahrs, 81, Longtime Waldwick Resident

WALDWICK, N.J. -- Longtime Waldwick resident Lucille M. Kahrs, affectionately known as "Bum Bum," died on Sunday, March 27. She was 81.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Kahrs moved to Waldwick in 1963. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Saddle River, where she served as Sunday school secretary. She devoted her time to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Rob Marsiglia, Bonnie and Bob Zysk, and Jennifer and George Thomson; grandchildren Bryan, Dan, Eric, Bobby, Laura, Catherine, Carly and George; sister Harriet Staderman; and nieces and nephews Donna, Phil, Diana, Kris and Judy.

Kahrs was predeceased by her brother-in-law Bill Staderman, sister Mae Jorgenson and nephew Eric Jorgenson.

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., in Wyckoff. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, 96 E. Allendale Rd., in Saddle River. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Zion Lutheran Church.
