WALDWICK, N.J. -- Longtime Waldwick resident Joseph M. Mastrogiacomo died Tuesday, Feb. 9. He was 82.
Born in the Bronx, Mastrogiacomo moved his family to Waldwick in 1967. He attended Fordham Preparatory School and Fordham University in the Bronx. He was a vice president for the Bank of New York for 23 years.
Mastrogiacomo was a proud member of the Waldwick Lions Club for 40 years and was happiest playing the part of Santa Claus for the residents of Waldwick for 20 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Antoinette (Florio); children Michael and his wife Patty, Mary Jo and her husband Joseph D’Annibale, JoAnn and her husband Joseph Granatell and John and his wife Patti; grandchildren Nina, Nadine, Joseph, Danielle, Amanda, Joseph, Nicholas, Lindsay, Matthew, Nikki, Jaimie and Carly; and great-granddaughter Kyla.
Mastrogiacomo was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Angelina Mastrogiacomo; brother Pat; sister Katie; and brothers-in-law Rocco Florio and Joseph Ferretti.
Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, February 12 at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13 at the Church of Saint Luke, 340 Franklin Turnpike, Ho-Ho-Kus.
