Gladys Christine Gilsenan, 95, Of Saddle River

SADDLE RIVER, N.J. -- Gladys Christine Gilsenan, of Saddle River and Ridgewood, died on Thursday, Dec. 15. She was 95.

She was born in Jersey City to Angelo and Lena Bonaldi. She was a bank teller after high school, where she met her husband, Richard Gilsenan. 

After their marriage, they moved to Ridgewood where they operated The Village Fountain (now The Daily Treat). 

They formed the real estate and insurance company, Gilsenan & Company, with Richard and his brother William. The business continues to operate in its original Ridgewood location.

She was the bookkeeper for Gilsenan & Company for over 30 years. After retiring from Gilsenan & Company, she spent many hours volunteering at Valley Hospital’s Kurth Cottage and was an active member of The Valley Hospital Auxiliary.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Richard; and siblings, John, Henry Bonaldi and Virginia Albanese.

She is survived by her children, Richard III, Mary Lanni and (Michael), David Gilsenan (Paul Quinn) and John Gilsenan (Mindy); grandchildren, Christine and Michael Lanni, John and Matt Gilsenan and Kate Amaisse (Marwan); great-granddaughter, Mila Amaisse; and siblings, Rita Barci and Reynold Bonaldi.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Dec. 19, from 4-7 p.m. at Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave., Ridgewood. Mass will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Saint Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church, 88 E Saddle River Road, Saddle River, followed by interment at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
