Geraldina Lama, 61, Of Midland Park

MIDLAND PARK, N.J. -- Geraldina (Veliz) Lama died Wednesday, Dec. 30. She was 61.

Born in Guatemala, Lama came to the United States and settled with her family in Lodi. She worked at Rose’s Bridal Shop in Paramus and more recently at Stern’s in Paramus.

Lama was a parishioner of Church of the Nativity in Midland Park.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Charles Lama Jr.; son Charles Philip Lama III of Midland Park; niece and goddaughter Madeline Garcia and her fiance Andre Alston; nephew and godson Erik Garcia; nephew Roberto Garcia; nephews Lorenzo Veliz Williams, Anthony Veliz Williams and a special nephew Clint L. Coley Jr.; sister Rita Schuszter; and brother Gerardo Veliz and his wife Norma.

Visiting hours are from 4-9 p.m. Sunday at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the Church of the Nativity, 315 Prospect St., Midland Park. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Saddle Brook.
