The work was part of PSE&G's transmission upgrade project to "ensure reliable electric service in the borough of Waldwick, as well as surrounding communities," the municipal website stated.
Construction will run Mondays through Fridays 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. until May, weather permitting. It includes installation of manholes and underground pipe.
PSE&G worked with borough officials to minimize traffic impact, Waldwick's website stated.
Locations include Hopper Avenue between Alexander and Wyckoff avenues, Wyckoff Avenue between Hopper Avenue and Monroe Street, Monroe Street between Wyckoff Avenue and Evergreen Street, and Evergreen Street between Monroe and Hemlock streets.
