The Get Ready Rally! is gathering at The Unitarian Society of Ridgewood at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Participants will make connections and posters, according to Gwenn Hauck, event organizer and former village councilwoman.

They'll also learn about the logistics of the day.

More than 200 Ridgewood-area residents are going, according to Hauck.

People who are not going also are invited to support those who are, she added.

Dr. Meg Schaefer, English teacher and artistic director of the New Players Company at Ridgewood High School, will address those gathered.

According to an invitation to the rally:

“This Women’s March will send a big message to our new administration on their first day in office that we are watching, and that this moment in American history feels unprecedented in many ways.

"We will stand together defending the weak or the marginalized, recognizing that together we are strong.”

The Unitarian Society is located at 113 Cottage Place in the village.
