WALDWICK, N.J. -- The Waldwick Chamber of Commerce's Ninth Annual 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk is this Sunday, May 1.

It's now too late to register online, but you can still register on race day, starting at 7:15 a.m. The fee, now, will be $30, for both the 5K and walk. Kids 10 and under are free, for the walk.

If you're already registered, you can check in on Saturday, at the Waldwick Ambulance Corps building from 3:30-6 p.m., as well as Sunday at the Waldwick High School Turf Field as early as 7:30 a.m.

The presenting sponsor, Body Plus, will begin pre-race stretching and massage at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday.

The race and walk are to honor the memory of SSGT Joseph D'Augustine and Officer Christopher Goodell. The memorial ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the 5K will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the walk, at 9:15.

CarePoint Health will be providing free cholesterol, blood pressure and glucose screenings at Boro Park during and after the run and walk. The fire department will also host a post-race gathering at the gazebo, with music and free hot dogs.

This is a rain or shine event. Visit the event webpage for more details, including the course map.
