Waldwick Residents Thank Troops With Surplus Halloween Candy

WALDWICK, N.J. — American soldiers will get a sweet surprise in time for the holiday season, thanks to Waldwick residents with extra Halloween candy.

Waldwick is participating in Operation Gratitude, which sends care packages and handwritten notes to U.S. troops.

Families this year can bring unopened treats to two drop-off locations to benefit Operation Gratitude.

The organization since 2003 has sent approximately 1 million care packages complete with hand-written notes and hygiene products to troops overseas.

Accepting donations through Nov. 13: The North West Bergen Regional Health Commission offices are located at 20 W. Prospect St.

Accepting through Nov. 15: The Waldwick Health Center is located at 22 Whites Lane.

Both locations will be open between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
