ALLENDALE, N.J. -- If your child loves musical theatre, or if the school-year schedule been too busy to venture into theatre program, Saddle River Youth Theatre's Summer Performance Camp may be the answer.
SRYT is offering different shows for different age groups. The camps for first- through eighth-graders revolves around the quirky musical filled with zany characters, "Alice in Wonderland." For seventh- through 12th-graders, it's "The Addams Family," a darkly comic and equally quirky musical.
Auditions are by appointment only. For "Alice in Wonderland," they are on Tuesday, June 7, from 4-7 p.m. For "The Addams Family," they're on Tuesday, June 14, from 4-7 p.m. Spaces are limited in each program.
Auditions are for character placement only. Every child registered for the program with their paid deposit and scheduled for an audition gets a part.
The performance camps for "Alice in Wonderland will be from July 11-23. The morning-session option runs from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on those days, and the afternoon session is from 1-4:30 p.m. The performances will be on July 22 and 23. Visit the website for show times and specific camp schedules.
"The Addams Family" production, for teens, will have multiple casts. The performance camps are July 25-30 and August 1-6. The start time will be 11 a.m. most days. The performances will be August 3-6. The website will also have show times and specific camp schedules.
