Saddle River Schedules 5th Annual Susan Zabransky Hughes Memorial Run/Walk

The race honors the memory of Saddle River resident Susan Zabransky Hughes, who lost her battle with cervical cancer in July 2011 at the age of 46.

Runners will line up at 8:15 a.m. More than 500 runners and walkers are expected; carpooling or walking if possible is suggested. Allow time for parking, stretching and getting to the start line.

Following the race, there will be an awards ceremony with refreshments, children's activities and live music at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. 

The Run Committee’s new endeavor is to institute “The Susan Zabransky Hughes Memorial Scholarship” to the new Medical School, HackensackUHN/Seton Hall University School of Medicine. The first class is slated to be seated in 2018.

A portion of the proceeds will continue to fund a riding program at Pony Power Therapies in Mahwah for pediatric oncology patients from the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at HackensackUMC.

Registration fee is $30 per person. A discount of $3 will be applied for all USATF NJ members.
