NORTHERN HIGHLAND, N.J. -- Walking, yoga and seminars are all part of the new wellness program that kicks off Saturday in Midland Park.
Sponsored by the Midland Park Board of Health, the new healthy living initiative is designed to motivate residents to become more physically active and to increase healthier eating and exercise habits.
A special kick-off group will be held at 9:30 a.m., at the DePhillips Recreation Center on Dairy Street. The program runs for four weeks on Saturdays.
Participants will be given a walking kit that includes a pedometer, walking/food/water intake log and lots of tips for getting healthy.
In addition to walking, the group will also take part in yoga classes and wellness seminars.
