The talk will cover the boroughs of Allendale and Ramsey, their formation from Hohokus Township and some of the causes of "boroughitis." Edwards will also discuss some of the things that make the boroughs unique, like the Celery Farm, the Fell house, the Old Stone House, and the influence of the Paterson and Ramapo Railroad on the growth of the boroughs.

He'll also go into some of the main reasons that these boroughs split from Hohokus Township -- like local schools, roads and taxes, and the growth of both school districts from a single one room school to two of the highest rated school systems in the state.

Museum seating is limited, so reserve early to ensure a seat by emailing gallerytalks@mahwahmuseum.org or calling 201-512-0099. The talk will begin at 1:15 p.m., in the upstairs gallery. Gallery talks are free with museum admission.

Annual membership dues are $15 per year per person, $10 for seniors and $25 for family membership. Click here for more information. For more information about the museum, visit its website, or follow it on Facebook or Twitter.
