ALLENDALE, N.Y. -- Allendale artist Mike Bertelli will present a show and tell of his original sculpture at the Clifton Arts Center and Sculpture Park on Thursday, Aug. 25.

This free presentation also includes refreshments, before and after.

The eight pieces he'll discuss were inspired by great lines from literature, including

  • "The time has come to talk of many things ... ," from Lewis Carroll's "Through the Looking Glass";
  • "These liars weren't no Kings nor Dukes ... ," from Mark Twain's "Huckleberry Finn"; and
  • "Better sleep with a sober cannibal than ... ," from Herman Melville's "Moby Dick."

Bertelli is known around Clifton for his public art sculptures at various locations. He also created the 9/11 Memorial at Crestwood Lake, in Allendale.

The event runs from 6-8 p.m., at 900 Clifton Ave., on the grounds of the Municipal Complex.
