Allendale Nursery Runs Tour Of Famed New York Gardens

ALLENDALE, N.J. -- Rohsler's Allendale Nursery & Florist is taking a group on a tour of notable gardens in New York, including Wave Hill.

"Our group will enjoy a guided tour of Wave Hill, a New York City public garden and cultural center," organizers note. "Experience the many 'gardens' in Wave Hill that have been developed over decades of design. We will also enjoy the spectacular views of the Hudson River and the Palisades."

There is a café at Wave Hill, but you can also bring your own lunch.

The trip also includes a 90-minute guided tour of Untermyer Park and Garden, owned by the City of Yonkers and maintained by the Untermyer Gardens Conservancy. "This 43-acre property has three prominent garden features including the Temple of Love, a Walled Garden and Vista Overlook," organizers note.

The fee for the trip is $55, and it includes bus transportation, a tip for the driver, admission fees, the guided tours and the parking fee. This trip is rain or shine.You can RSVP until Friday, July 22, or until it's sold out. Buy tickets here.

Organizers recommend wearing comfortable shoes and a hat, and bringing sunscreen, water and a camera.

The bus will depart from Guardian Angel Church, 320 Franklin Turnpike, in Allendale, at 9 a.m. sharp. Organizers suggest arriving between 8:30-8:45 a.m.: coffee will be available. The bus should be back in Allendale by 4-4:30 p.m.
